Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how QuestHunter ("the Bot", "we", "our") collects and uses data when you add QuestHunter to your Discord server or interact with it.

1. Data We Collect

QuestHunter collects only the minimum data necessary to operate:

• Server (Guild) ID — to associate your server's notification channel configuration
• Channel ID — to know where to send quest notifications
• User ID — only for users who opt in to personal DM notifications
• User preferences — DM opt-in status, notification filter settings

We do not collect message content, usernames, email addresses, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.

2. How We Use Data

• Sending quest notifications to configured server channels
• Sending optional DM alerts to opted-in users
• Applying per-channel notification filters
• Tracking which quests have already been announced (deduplication)

3. Data Storage

All data is stored in JSON files on our private server. Data is not shared with third parties, not sold, and not used for any purpose beyond bot functionality.

Guild and channel data is retained as long as QuestHunter is a member of your server. When you remove the bot, associated data will be deleted within 30 days.

User DM preferences are retained until you run /dm-off or otherwise opt out.

4. Cookies

This website uses a single cookie (qh_cookie) stored in your browser's localStorage to remember your cookie consent preference. No tracking cookies or third-party cookies are used.

5. Third-Party Services

• Discord — the bot operates within Discord's platform. Discord's Privacy Policy applies to all Discord interactions.
• GitHub — quest data is fetched from a public GitHub repository (aamiaa/discord-api-diff). No personal data is sent to GitHub.
• Top.gg — if you visit our Top.gg listing, Top.gg's own privacy policy applies.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see below). You can also:

• Remove QuestHunter from your server at any time via Discord server settings
• Opt out of DM notifications using /dm-off
• Reset cookie consent by clearing your browser's localStorage

7. Children's Privacy

QuestHunter is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirements. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
